Neighborhood Center Expense Savings
Cherry Hill, Oak Hollow, Villa del Rio, Willows of Woodhaven and Woodstock represent 843 housing units or 18.38% of Woodhaven apartment housing. Police calls between 2000 and 2004 to these apartments was 32.46% of calls to all Woodhaven apartment complexes. In addition, 30.14% of all Part I & II crimes in Woodhaven apartments were in these five apartments.
For this period, 2000 thru 2004 it cost the city approx. $4.4 million to provide police services (not including EMS, Code and Fire services) to these apartments. An estimated $0.7 million was received in tax revenue over the same period resulting in an excess cost of $3.7 million.
Annually, these five apartments contribute at least a $0.875 million cost to the City. In 2004 the City spent $0.975 for police services and only recieved $0.1 million in tax revenue.
