Development Scenarios
Neighborhood Center
The Neighborhood Center Village is located at the intersection of Boca Raton and Oakland Hills in the heart of the Woodhaven Neighborhood with a gateway entrance on Bridge Street. The plan transforms an epicenter for crime and community concern in to a thriving and vibrant community center. This is accomplished by removing five apartment complexes and a convenience store and re-configuring the Boca Raton Boulevard/Oakland Hills Drive intersection into a new community town square surrounded by a mixed-use development with residential and retail services. The area north of the square is designed like a traditional neighborhood with a variety of housing options such as small-lot single-family homes, town homes, and row houses. Arterial roads such as Boca Raton Boulevard and Oakland Hills Drive will be re-designed to accommodate pedestrian and bicycle travel. This includes adding landscaped medians, wide sidewalks buffered by street trees, bicycle lanes, lighting for safety, and pedestrian amenities such as benches and bus shelters. Trailheads and a nature park on the east side of the Neighborhood Center connect residents to additional trails in the utility easement.
