How-to apply for NEZ incentives
Contact the City’s Planning and Development Department at 817-392-2222 opt. 0 or via email devnezprogram@fortworthgov.org to obtain information on NEZ’s, request forms and download applications directly from the Planning and Development’s website: http://www.fortworthgov.org/planninganddevelopment/dev.aspx?id=43192.
Change to read: Return completed application form along with required documents in person or mail them to the City of Fort Worth Housing Department at 1000 Throckmorton St., Fort Worth, TX 76102; or email them to devnezprogram@fortworthgov.org. There is a $25.00 application fee for basic incentives. The fee must be paid by cashiers check or money order made payable to the City of Fort Worth.
The Planning and Development Department will certify and notify the applicant of the approval for basic incentives.
Letters of recommendation needed
To receive the NEZ incentives, the applicant must have the written approval of both Woodhaven Neighborhood Association and Woodhaven Community Development. With this provision, the Woodhaven community can have some influence over the types of businesses that choose to locate here. This provision only applies to NEZ incentives. For example, an investor or developer can build on a tract of land properly zoned for his type of business without the approval from the community. However, that business can not receive the NEZ incentives without the written recommendation from both Woodhaven Neighborhood Association and Woodhaven Community Development.
