Ron Casey, Woodhaven Businessman. Ron is a native of Fort Worth who graduated from Texas Christian University with a degree in Economics. He also holds a degree from the Southwestern Graduate School of Banking at Southern Methodist University.
Ron has worked in east Fort Worth since 1980. He began working at Woodhaven National Bank in 1983 and is currently the bank's Chairman of the Board and CEO. Ron is past President of the American Institute of Banking, Fort Worth and past President of the Rotary Club, Southwest. Ron has served on the Boards of the YMCA and the East Fort Worth Chamber. Ron is an avid golfer and enjoys traveling.
David Coble, Woodhaven resident. David received a Bachelor Degree in Management at Dallas Baptist University and a degree in Fire Administration at Weatherford College. He is a Deputy Fire Chief with the Fort Worth Fire Department in charge of Education and Support Services. David is an active member of many local and national organizations, including North Texas Council of Governments, National Fire Protections Association, International Association of Black Professional Firefighters, International Association of Fire Chiefs, National Code Council and International Association of Firefighters. David is the president of the Sunset Oaks Homeowners Association and a Board Member of the Greater Fort Worth MLK Holiday Committee.
Kenneth R. Devero, former Woodhaven resident. Ken graduated from Oklahoma State University and received his MPA degree from University of Oklahoma. He is past President of the Development Corporation of Tarrant County. Ken previously served 21 years as President of Downtown Fort Worth, Inc. He also was President of Central Cities Development Corporation, Alexandria LA; City Manager of Beaumont, TX and City Manager of three cities in Tennessee. Ken currently serves as interim President and Chief Executive for Downtown Arlington Management Corporation.
Ken serves on the Boards of the Fort Worth Club, Longhorn Council of Boy Scouts and Tarrant County College Foundation. He is a member of International Downtown Association, International City Management Association and Urban Land Institute.
Rick K. Disney, Woodhaven resident. Rick graduated from the University of Texas and the University of Texas Law School. He was board certified in Civil Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.
Rick was one of the founding fathers of the Woodhaven Neighborhood Association and served on its Steering Committee for 18 years. He was also one of the founding Directors of Woodhaven Community Development and remains on the Board. He previously served on the Boards of the Woodhaven Country Club and White Lake School. He is an avid golfer, tennis player and TCU football fan.
James Dixson, Woodhaven resident. Jim received Business Degree from University of Texas at Arlington and then worked as a Public Accountant for 18 years. He was the Founder and Chairman of J. David Associates, the parent company for Telepro Telemarketing, Lockbox Caging & Escrow, Southwest Data and 1st Global Merchant Services. In 1992, he co-founded GM Direct, the parent company for Global Mail, Inkspot Commercial Printing and Advanced Digital Technologies. Since the mid-1980's Jim has also been a working and royalty owner of oil and gas production.
Jim is a member of National Association of Royalty Owners, Direct Marketing Association, Postal Customer Council, Printing Industries of America, Community Associates Institute and Woodhaven Neighborhood Association. Since 2002 he has been the President of the Woodhaven Village HOA.
Bob Duke - Bob Duke is the current Executive Director of Clayton Child Care Inc., dba Clayton YES! located at 1215 Country Club Lane, Fort Worth, Texas. Clayton provides youth enrichment services during non school hours to children in the Birdville, Keller and Fort Worth ISDs. Currently service is provided to nearly 3900 children daily in 77 locations in Tarrant County. Bob has been the executive director since 2008. Prior to this position, Bob spent 15 years with Child Care Associates (previously The Day Care Association of Fort Worth and Tarrant County) providing subsidized child care to pre-school children through the federally funded Head Start program. Bob honorably retired from the U. S. Army after 23 years of dedicated service throughout the world.
↩ Return to Top of PageJoe Epps, Woodhaven resident, WCD President. Joe retired after 31 years in savings & loan industry, three years as President of Fort Worth Savings. He served on the City of Fort Worth Mayor's Housing Task Force and the State of Texas Housing Task Force. Joe is a Distinguished Alumnus of Forest Ave. High School in Dallas, received a BA degree from SMU, and completed the American S & L Institute Financial Managers Program. He graduated from the Savings and Loan Graduate School at Indiana University and completed the Executive Management Program, University of Southern California. He is a certified financial planner and holds a Texas Real Estate Broker's License.
Joe served on the Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and the Fort Worth Public Library Foundation Board of Directors. Joe served on the Mayor's Steering Committee to encourage voters to approve a one half cent sales tax to support the creation of a Crime District. He was recognized by the Handley Masonic Lodge with the Community Builder Award. The Texas Savings and Loan League presented Joe the John T Mahone Award, given annually to the S&L employee who has made the greatest contribution to the community.
Joe was instrumental in the founding of the Woodhaven Neighborhood Association, served twice as its President for a total of 7 years and is currently the Real Estate Chairman on WNA's Steering Committee.
Pastor Derrick Faison, Associate Pastor for the Potter’s House Church of Dallas, Texas. Pastor Faison was born and raised in Wilmington, Delaware. He studied electrical engineering at West Virginia Institute of Technology and began his ministry in West Virginia under Bishop T. D. Jakes. He will be actively involved with the development of a Potter’s House campus in Fort Worth on Woodhaven Blvd.
Pastor Faison currently serves as Director of Christian Education and Ministerial Affairs for The Potter’s House Church in Dallas, Texas. He is a conference coordinator, national youth leader, and renowned speaker for conferences and workshops nationwide. He is the Founder and CEO of Derick Faison Ministries, which assists pastors and clergy in the areas of leadership development, family relationships, balancing marriage and ministry, conflict resolution and developing interpersonal skills.
Pastor Faison is a devoted family man and father, married to Tanya Faison who shares in his call to ministry.

Becky Haskin, Woodhaven resident. Becky is a Fort Worth native who graduated from Texas Christian University with a degree in Criminal Justice. She served as District 4 Council Representative for 13 years. Becky is a Tarrant County Child Advocate and a Board member of the Fort Worth Sister Cities International and Med-Star, the Area Metropolitan Ambulance Authority. She serves as the Fundraising Chair for the Tarrant County Day Resource Center.
Becky is the CEO of Makers Sales and Marketing LLC. She is enjoys spending time with her family and friends and loves to travel.
Barbara Holston. Barbara Holston is the Executive Director of the Fort Worth Housing Authority. Fort Worth Housing Authority is the former owner of Woodhaven Crossroads, 168 units in the Woodhaven Neighborhood. Ms. Holston has been an eastside resident for sixteen years.
Dana Hinzmann, Woodhaven resident, WCD Secretary. Dana graduated from Carroll College in Wisconsin with a degree in Social Work. She was one of the founding Directors of WCD and served for eight years as its marketing chairman.
She previously served on the Woodhaven Neighborhood Association's Steering Committee as Secretary, Publicity Chair, Recycling Chair and Editor of the monthly newsletter, "The Update". Dana also served on the Board of the Tarrant County Medical Society Alliance as CPR Chairman and as Secretary.
Dana annually chairs the Publicity Committee for the Woodhaven Benefit Golf tournament and is a member of the Woodhaven Scholarship Committee. She is an active member of the Woodhaven Woman's Club, previously holding the offices of President, Programs Chair and Secretary.
Dana's other interests include playing bridge, gardening, traveling and needlepoint.
Marty Jackson, Woodhaven resident. Marty's professional background is in residential real estate sales. Marty was with Remax in Arlington for a number of years and is currently officing in Southlake. Focus includes Woodhaven and other areas in the metroplex.
Marty received a bachelor degree from the University of Texas at Arlington in August of 1987 with a concentration of study in business and psychology, and has held a real estate license in the state of Texas for seventeen years.
Marty is a native Texan and has lived in Woodhaven with her husband Bill Jackson for twelve years. Between them, they have five children and seven grandchildren. Marty is a member of Woodhaven Woman's Club and has held leadership positions in church, civic and social organizations. Marty and Bill have enjoyed worldwide travel, golf and other social activities.
Richard Robert Jernigan, Woodhaven businessman. Ric is a graduate of LeTourneau University, attended University of Texas at Arlington and Texas Christian University and holds an Associate Degree in Computer Science from Tarrant County Junior College.
Ric previously served on the WCD Board from 2001 to 2006 and is an active member of many community organizations including the Rotary Club of East Fort Worth, Fort Worth Scottish Rite, the East Fort Worth Business Association and the Masonic Lodge. He serves on the Privacy and the Distribution Committees of the American Council of Life Insurance Association and is a Fellow of the Life Office Management Association.
Ric is Senior Vice President of National Farm Life Insurance Company whose headquarters is in Woodhaven.
Ken Kerwin, Woodhaven resident. Ken is a native of Chicago who moved to Fort Worth in 1979. Ken worked as a salesman and sales manager for several major companies including Clairol and the Gillette Corporation. He handled many national accounts such as Wal-Mart and Walgreen's Drug Stores. He retired as sales manager for the Scotts Miracle-Gro Company.
Ken served on the Woodhaven Neighborhood Association's Steering Committee as Vice President and acting President and is a past President of the Woodhaven Country Club.
Ken is enjoys spending time with his family and friends, playing golf and traveling.
Nancy Walker Lichtenwalter, Woodhaven resident. Nancy received her Bachelor of Business Administration at the University of North Texas. She worked at American Airlines for 26 years, primarily in the Purchasing Department, before retiring as Manager of Supplier Diversity in 2004. In 2002, Nancy was recognized by Purchasing Magazine as one of its "Women in Purchasing." Since retirement she has worked as a consultant to the Purchasing Department, responsible for supporting areas of strategy, systems and training.
Nancy has been an active participant in numerous community and professional organizations throughout the years. Most recently she served on the boards of Woodhaven Womans Club, Woodhaven Women’s Golf Association and the Woodhaven Couples Group. She currently serves as Fund Raising Chair and a member of the Executive Committee for Woodhaven Community Development. She and her husband, Ray, have enjoyed living in Woodhaven since moving to the neighborhood in 2006.

Former Lieutenant for the Nebraska Penal System, Dalonika received a bachelorÕs degree in criminal justice at Bellevue University. She supervises Fort Worth and surrounding areas for re-entry and is an active member of many local and national organizations including: Minority Leadership Council of Fort Worth, National WomenÕs Business Association, Texas SpeakerÕs Bureau and is an executive board member and the Financial Secretary of the Greater Fort Worth MLK Holiday Committee. Shaking the criminal justice system as the District Re-entry supervisor for TDCJ/Parole and honored for her great community efforts, Dalonika is the co-host every Thursday on ÔWorking KnowledgeÕ radio speaking with leaders in the industry concerning knowledge tips which work to help each area of your business and personal life.
As a professional with extensive experience in the criminal justice arena, Dalonika's skill set and management approach has proven to be quite valuable. She is a highly accomplished criminal justice and public relations specialist poised for her a role as a community liaison in recruitment, public speaking, building relationships with corporate leaders and public education about the criminal justice system and more.
Dalonika is also the wife of Entrepreneur Harold Ray McDonald Sr., Celebrity Traveling Barbering Specialist and attends the PotterÕs House of Fort Worth of Woodhaven Blvd.
↩ Return to Top of PageRobert I. Norris, DVM, Woodhaven Business Owner. Dr. Norris is a graduate of Oklahoma State University College of Veterinary Medicine and a resident of east Fort Worth since July of 1986.
In May of 1989 Dr. Norris opened Bridge Street Animal Clinic in Woodhaven's Woodcreek Shopping Center. Needing to expand after 12 years at that location, he moved the clinic to its present free standing location on Bridge Street in Woodhaven.
Outside the clinic Dr. Norris is a devoted family man and is active in his church. He enjoys family road trip vacations to National Parks and other national points of interest.
Maxine Parris, Woodhaven resident. Maxine received her associate nursing degree from Dallas County Community College and worked at the Dallas VA Hospital as Head Nurse of the Operating Room and the Fort Worth Outpatient Clinic where she was instrumental in establishing the minor surgery unit. During her nursing career, she was "Woman of the Year" for the medical center employees and the Secretary's (VA) Award for Excellence in Nursing. She was also honored with the "Yellow Rose of Texas" award signed by Governor George W. Bush for outstanding service in nursing.
Maxine has been a volunteer for the Arlington Women's Shelter and Loaves & Fishes Soup Kitchen in Fort Worth. She formerly served on the Woodhaven Neighborhood Association Steering Committee as its Commercial Liaison and is a member of the Eastside Ministries Board. She is an active volunteer for the Meals on Wheels program. Maxine is very involved in the Woodhaven Woman's Club and the Eastern Hills Methodist Church.
Jim Patterson, Woodhaven resident, WCD Treasurer. Jim graduated from Texas A & M with a degree in Civil Engineering and did post graduate studies at MIT. He is retired President/Chairman of Thos. S. Byrne, Inc. of Fort Worth.
Jim's civic activities include campaign chairman of both the United Way and The Arts Council. He has served as an officer and/or board member of several organizations including Carter Blood Care, United Community Centers, Child Study Center, The Rotary Club of Fort Worth, Texas Wesleyan University, and the Fort Worth MIT Alumni. He was District Chairman of the Chaparral District of the Boy Scouts.
Jim served in the Navy during WW II and in the Army during the Korean War. While in Korea, Jim was in charge of building a fifty meter concrete arch bridge North of Seoul and above the light line. Jim is devoted to his family, loves to travel and is an active member of Meadowbrook United Methodist Church.
Greg Ricks, President, Woodhaven Neighborhood Association. Greg is co-owner of Combined Arts Media, a company that publishes playbills and a web site (www.GuideToTheCity.org) and an online ticketing service for arts organizations. He first served two terms as Vice President of WNA and then became its President in 2008. Greg's goals are to increase WNA membership, help implement the Woodhaven redevelopment plan and do more to insure the long term success of the Woodhaven Country Club. He and his wife Jeanine have lived in the Oakwood Trail Townhomes here in Woodhaven for 13 years.
Bette Robinson, Woodhaven resident. Bette received a music degree from Hunter College University of New York and did graduate studies at University of Georgia and University of Houston. Bette was a teacher and a tutor of exceptional children and is currently the owner of an international trade business, GSTX.
Bette is one of the founders of Woodhaven Neighborhood Association, Inc. and served on its Steering Committee as Beautification Chairman. She is also one of the founders of Woodhaven Community Development, Inc. and currently serves on its Executive Committee.
Bette has served on the Boards of the YMCA, the American Heart Association and the Fort Worth Library. She is the Director of PERL (Patrons of East Regional Library) and was instrumental in raising private funds to build the landmark East Regional Library's clock and bell tower.
James Russell, Woodhaven resident. James is a Fort Worth native who graduated from IM Terrell High School and attended Texas Wesleyan University. James worked as sales representative for several major Metroplex businesses before serving as President and CEO for B&R Janitorial Supply Company of Fort Worth for nine years.
James' interests include antique cars and sports. James and his wife Lillie M. Biggins are proud parents of five children and several grandchildren.
Lou Scoma, resident since 1973. President and owner of Woodhaven Country Club. Mr. Scoma plans to make the Country Club one of the best in the city. Currently he is working on improvements to the course to include a better sprinkler system and better sand in the traps. He is in the process of hiring a new tennis and golf ÒproÓ. Shortly he plans to make major improvement to the Club House.
Edward L. Stout, Woodhaven resident. Ed began his career with Acme Brick Company upon graduating from Louisiana Tech University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Prior to being named President of Acme Brick Company in 1973, Ed worked for the company as an Engineer, a Field Sales Manager and Vice President. He retired from Acme in March,1999 and served as CEO of the company until June, 2000.
Ed is past Chairman of the Brick Institute of America, past President of the Southwest Brick Council, past Chairman of the National Brick Marketing Council and past President of the Brick Institute of Texas. He has served as an officer, advisor or member of the Rotary, Kiwanis, United Way and the Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce. He is a past Director of Meadowbrook National Bank and North Texas Bank Shares.
Ed is an avid quail hunter and is currently trying to get native quail re-established on family acreage in Parker County. He enjoys traveling with his best friend, his wife of over 50 years.
Vernell Sturns, Woodhaven resident. Vernell received his under graduate degree from Prairie View A & M University and his master degree from the University of Kansas. He served for more than twenty-five years in the public sector with the City of Fort Worth as Deputy City Manager and City Manager and with the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport as Deputy Director and Executive Director. While at the D/FW Airport, Vernell was credited with updating the original airport master plan which identified the need for additional runaways and terminals to meet the future growth demands.
Vernell has owned several businesses in the private sector, they include a Title Company, and beauty supply stores and currently he serves as Owner/Managing Partner of a company manages Municipal Landfills.
Vernell has served on the Board of Directors of the Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce, Tarrant County United Way, Texas Christian University and Jarvis College.
