Woodhaven Awards Night

Apr 15, 2010

The annual Woodhaven Scholarship and Grants Presentation was held on April 14 at the Woodhaven Country Club. Mayor Pro Tem and District 4 Councilman Danny Scarth was the guest speaker.

Scholarships were awarded to 10 deserving East Fort Worth high school seniors who plan to attend a Texas college or university in the fall of 2010. These awards can be used for tuition, educational fees, equipment and supplies, and on-campus boarding expenses.

In addition to awarding scholarships to college-bound students, grants were awarded to Texas Wesleyan University to assist with expenses in direct support of its golf program and to the East Regional Library to fund special educational needs that are not included in the City’s operating budget.

Since its inception in 1998, the Woodhaven Scholarship Account has awarded over $100,000 in scholarships and grants. Funding for these programs is received from the annual Woodhaven Scholarship Golf Tournament, which is jointly hosted by Woodhaven Community Development, Woodhaven Country Club and Woodhaven Neighborhood Association.

Additional information on the golf tournament and the scholarship and grant programs is located in the Golf Tournament section of this website.
